How quickly a year passes, we are entering the final months of

this year. Let us enter the new month with gratitude for the ways God

has led us through the ages. As the year draws to a close, we find our-

selves moving from the season of thanksgiving into the season of an-

ticipation. November invites us to pause and give thanks - not just for

the blessings that are easy to see, but also for the quiet ways God has

This month’s lectionary themes are reminding us of

many events. One is that we celebrate World Sunday

School Day. Let us thank God for the ministry of Sunday

School. Especially for our children to learn more about the Word of

God, as well as equip them to follow God throughout their lives. Our

challenge should be to not enable only one hour per week of Sunday

School, but even in everyday life, we should teach the children how to

experience all throughout our lives.
